L Academie Hotel

L'Academie Hotel is a 50 year old venue that has been fully reborn. It has been refurbished, re-decorated and re-named as part of the continued growth of the infrastructure and facilities of the Shafston group of Colleges. Directly across the road from the already-existing Shafston City Campus, it becomes part of an expansion of that campus. L'Academie provides a perfect opportunity for Hospitality students to be trained in a fully operational commercial facility, yet still be part of the greater Shafston city campus.

Training facilities for students of the Shafston School of Hospitality have been expanded in the set up of L'Academie. Walls have been knocked down and brand new superior-quality training Kitchens have been installed in the upstairs part of the Hotel once used for accommodation. The restaurant and bar areas on the ground floor have been redesigned and there is now the L'Academie bar, L'Academie Restaurant and L'Academie Coffee Shop and Patisserie.

The L'Academie Restaurant is now run as a training restaurant for Shafston's Hospitality Management (Cookery) students. Full three course meals plus appetizers of star quality are prepared and presented for diners by Shafston Cookery students under the supervision of their highly qualified and experienced trainers. The time spent in the L’Académie Restaurant as part of the students’ training provides valuable hands-on industry experience in a commercial environment which will provide skills to give Shafston students an advantage in their search for secure employment outside of their studies.
